Quality Engineer I


Job Summary:

Performs engineering and/or metrology assignments including instrument calibrations, equipment qualifications and process validations involving laboratory equipment or systems; acts as equipment system subject matter expert for client and regulatory audits; assists laboratory staff in determining and documenting specifications for laboratory equipment; assists with training of Associates in Engineering processes.
                                                                                                                                                
Performs instrument calibrations and equipment qualifications for new and existing equipment and other metrology functions as assigned.  Manages metrology assignments performed by outside vendors.

Drafts all pertinent equipment documents as needed including:
Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS)
System Qualification Protocols and Reports
Process Validation Protocols and Reports
Relevant CAPA documents as needed (Nonconformances, Corrective Actions, Preventative Actions, Effectiveness Checks, etc.)
Assists Laboratory Staff to generate User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Equipment Operating Procedures (EOP).

Applies standard engineering techniques to improve various processes.  Works with management, facilities technicians and laboratory technicians to contribute to completion of process improvements.

Interact with current or potential clients and regulatory agencies as required.  Supports client audits with respect to the equipment management system.

Coordinates work with laboratory department Management/Staff and other support groups (i.e.: Quality Assurance, Facilities).

Assist with training of Associates on new and existing equipment and processes.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Financial Data Analyst


Job Summary:

Develops and maintains database applications. Meets with business users and management to create requirements documentation for Reporting project needs. Programs and develops reports and databases. Assists Analytics reporting lead and Supervisor in ensuring that projects are implemented within project scope and requirements. Creates and maintains report and database documentation which is used as a tool for the business and Reporting team to understand how the reports and databases function. Acts as a backup to all data analysts’ team members when needed. Support and complete various projects, including automation/standardization efforts. Constantly evaluate systems, processes and procedures for inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement.

Timely and accurate completion of projects.
Develops and maintains database applications.
Create and maintain report and database documentation.
Produce concise reporting on any servicing data files as needed.
Perform other duties to facilitate group goals as assigned.
Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.

SKILL

Must be able to follow instructions, ask clarifying questions.

Ability to independently plan and conduct moderate non-routine projects. Show flexibility to processes changes.
Ability to interpret business needs into technical project requirement documentation. Must be very detailed oriented.
Reverse-engineering skills with ability to work independently, requiring little supervision.
Advanced personal computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office and other Windows based applications.
Advanced Access skills with ability to create, troubleshoot and enhance databases.
Basic Visual Basic for Applications troubleshooting and code writing skills.
Intermediate Excel skills.
Intermediate SQL/SQL server skills.
Reporting Services skills preferred.
Knowledge of Visio or similar diagramming software preferred.
Must be willing to learn internal and external applications from User prospective.

Professional Affairs Specialist


Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Director or a Senior Manager of Professional Affairs, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in the management of data and processes, as well as organizing, coordinating, implementing, and following-up of logistical details with health care professionals (HCPs), PA activities, responsibilities, and events as directed by the PA team.

Provides continuous attention to detail when performing general job responsibilities and supporting PA Managers, HCPs and GMA.

Manages HeartBeat Experts data and become the "Super User" for the HBE system

Support PA Managers to ensure consulting contracts and HCP payments are processed and available in a timely manner

Collaborate with Health Care Compliance and Legal department for consulting/contract review and processes pertinent to domestic and international utilization .

Continually assess and improve the management of HCP interactions'information and grant processing procedures

Maintenance of PA SharePoint site as required

Manage process and follow-up for unrestricted educational grants (UrEG) and payments according to UrEG Charter and WI

Help manage PA budget and accruals

Coordinate tracking and entry of departmental monthly achievements for Strategy Mapping

Collaborate with PA Managers, internal departments and external agencies for planning and coordinating assistance for Advisory Boards

Position may require occasional attendance at off-site meetings to support activities as needed

Conform to, support and enforce all company policies and procedures

Participate in any and all reasonable work activities, as may be deemed suitable and assigned by PA management.

Mechanical Engineer



Job Summary:

Mechanical Engineer to conceptualize, design, develop and test durable solutions of various mechanical components, mechanical assemblies, and optical assemblies used in medical and industrial imaging systems. Design mechanical test fixtures and tooling, design of test procedures, and other manufacturing support functions required to consistently produce mechanical and/or opto/mechanical assemblies. Provide analytical support of mechanical designs to the development teams. Perform research and development of new mechanical and opto/mechanical technology for use in future products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform various forms of analysis.  These analyses should include temperature, FEA, tolerance, torque values, etc.
Determine methods of communicating the analytical results with the rest of the Engineering staff.
Determine, where appropriate, empirical methods, to validate analytical models.  If necessary, update the model assumptions and/or empirical methods to correlate the results.
Research and Development
Research and develop new mechanical, opto/mechanical, and materials technology for use in future and existing KSI products.
Project Development Teams
Provide design assistance and analysis for the Engineering and Manufacturing personnel during the various design phases.
Contribute design ideas, constraints, and trade-offs, and concerns to the Project Managers
Transform ideas into mechanical, optical, component, and assembly drawings
Communicate with purchasing and vendors for new processes and capabilities required for new designs.
Participate in and/or perform the critical reviewer function during design reviews. Identify holes, concerns, and possible problems associated with the design and/or manufacturing processes.
Sustaining Support
Provide sustaining support for existing product lines. This may include analysis of field issues and/or analysis of manufacturing issues.
Determine validation test requirements to isolate and help correct sustaining problems.
Determine test methods and procedures for new requirements.
Documentation   changes.
General Engineering
Provide support and technical direction for the generation and maintenance of the Design Assurance Checks for mechanical and opto/mechanical designs.
Regular attendance is an essential job function.
Will spend part of his/her time as a member of continuous improvement teams undertaking projects and seeking ways to improve the quality of KSI’s products and services.

Required Skills and Experience:

Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related fields with 2-5 years of experiencein mechanical and opto/mechanical design or a MS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related fields with 0-2 years of experiencein mechanical and opto/mechanical design.
Familiarity with Endoscopy a plus
Experience using computer aided drafting (CAD) software namely ProE
Experience using Computer-aided FMEA and temperate analysis tools.
Ability to perform tolerance studies on assembly components using CAD capabilities and standard inspection and measuring tools.
Basic understanding of optical design formulas, optical materials, coatings, and mechanical constraints of opto/mechanical designs, adhesives, and sealing techniques.
Knowledgeable of machining operations, metal finishes, and finishing.
Familiarity with standard mechanical drawing requirements
