- Analyze content opportunities of saleable Web products by researching, evaluating and prioritizing recommendations aligned with clients’ needs.
- Write and edit original content, feature articles and newsletters on a variety of topics relating to the commercial insurance industry for inclusion in Web-based products and online communication vehicles.
- Interview customers and prospects to better understand their business needs from a marketing and content perspective.
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to proactively analyze content needs.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and legislative actions that may have implications for research and evaluation.
- Create and maintain corporate marketing collateral.
- Support online social media program and presence.
- Work with product management team and chief editor to prioritize tasks.
- Assist staff as needed and available.
- Keep current on insurance trends and legislative developments that impact the design and administration of insurance and employee benefit plans or property & casualty risk management.
- Perform other tasks on projects as needed/assigned by management.
Qualifications Include:
- College degree in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism or related discipline.
- A basic understanding of marketing concepts (Web-related writing experience strongly desired, with ability to understand Web interface and site flow) and/or equivalent combination.
- Working knowledge of insurance terminology is strongly desired.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills to ensure accurate, error-free work.
- High level of computer literacy and Internet knowledge, especially Microsoft Office XP products.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and take critiques, as needed.
- Process in-depth interviewing and probing skills.
- Ability to understand our products, customers and partners' needs in the insurance environment.
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills and a strong desire to learn and grow, both professionally and personally in ways that will enhance job performance.
