Overview:
Responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance and further development of network and IP telephony globally.
Designs, troubleshoots, and monitors all aspects of the company Local Area Network (LAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN). Provides planning guidelines to insure future requirements for network infrastructure needs are always met; works closely with business units, and infrastructure / operations managers to help them forecast their future network utilization requirements for budget development. Assists with security projects that directly involve configuration changes to network infrastructure equipment (firewall, routers, etc.). Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to solve technical issues that interrupt daily operations on network environments.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, and implements integrated network architectures to support ongoing operations.
Analyzes and determines equipment budget requirements, current computer and network systems technology, and available vendor offerings to establish optimum computer and network architecture solutions.
Setup, configure, optimize, and maintain standards for wiring, system security, and routing / switching protocols to include BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, NAT, IP QOS, CDP, Multicast, VLANs, Spanning Tree, VRRP, and HSRP.
Plan, setup, configure, monitor, secure, and troubleshoot all facets of Local and Wide Area network equipment to include modems, switches, routers, firewalls, etc.
Adhere to change management policies and procedures as determined by Group IT service management personnel.
Work with Vendors to obtain network services (WAN), and to resolve complex issues when outages occur.
Provision, setup, configure, test, and troubleshoot data circuits to include DSL, ISDN, MPLS, Metro-Ethernet, and dial-on-demand to support office and site business units.
Create detailed documentation using standard office application tools (MS Visio, PowerPoint, Word, etc.); maintain current library of information in support of network operations.
Act as an integral part of the global IT Network team supporting offices in 63+ countries.
Practice safety in accordance with Vestas safety policies; exercise good housekeeping practices to ensure the highest levels of safety.
Qualifications:
Certified in Cisco IOS or similar.
3-10 years of experience from a large business network.
Excellent working knowledge of Cisco switches/routers, VLAN and routing technologies.
Knowledge of Cisco VPN Concentrators, ASA/PIX Firewalls, Cisco-based IP telephony and Cisco-based Wireless networks is an advantage.
Good knowledge of network monitoring tools and experience in baselining and performance monitoring.
Knowledge and experience of ITIL methods and Service Desk tools is an advantage.
Ability to work professionally and structured and to document your work is mandatory.
Speak and write English fluently.
Due to the large region covered the ability to work independently is required – however, the ability to be a team player and focused on teamwork is also a necessity.
Good communication skills and ability to cover both end-user communication and technical high level communication with colleagues and consultants.
Flexible concerning work place and working hours and willing to spend up to half of working time abroad.
Willing to be part of an on-call team.
IMPACT
No responsibility for budgeting or accounting – except for providing input for budgeting process. No employees directly reporting to this person. Area of responsibility is to inform, suggest and execute in a networking environment. The importance of the position is on the execution level, not planning and development.
Follows procedures; must be able to asses user needs; performs work with limited supervision.
KNOWLEDGE
The position will be contributing to the global knowledge network formed by the global Communication Solutions team within the Service Delivery. But will primarily work on regional AME based projects, tasks

Person needs to be open-minded and communicative towards peers in the team. Are not supposed to be part of negotiations.
