IT Developer

Primary Purpose: Develop software solutions to time and budget, meet specific requirements and do so using a methodical, thorough and structured approach in a quality controlled environment
Detailed responsibilities would include:
·          Work closely with business users to define their requirements
·          Demonstrate that the solution you have produced meets the requirements
·          Test both functional and non-functional requirements
·          Analyse test data requirements
·          Execute test scripts written by you and/or other IT professionals
·          Interpret and document the results
·          Produce estimates and plans for delivery of software solutions
·          Provide advice and guidance to those that are less experienced than you or less familiar to the technology
Required Skills & Experience:
·          Proven experience working on IT projects of medium complexity and a development capacity using the following tools:- MS-Access including VBA
- MS Office VBA
- Visual Basic
- SQL (ideally Oracle 10)
·          One of the following experience would be highly appreciated:- End user reporting tools e.g. Business Object, Cognos (Impromptu, Powerplay)
- Practical usage of Java or other web development tools
- Use of automated testing tools
·          Ability to work with a minimum level of supervision
·          Open and creative approach to developing solutions
·          Capacity to solve problems, identify options and propose a reasoned solution
·          Fluency in English is essential.
