Senior Process Engineer
Specific Accountabilities include
Management, technical execution and completion of engineering assigned tasks in a specific process discipline area.
Assisting the project / lead process engineers in the co-ordination and preparation of input into the contract documents for each discipline area, including design criteria, scope of work, procedures and design approach.
Liaison and co-ordination with other engineers and discipline groups on the contract to effect timely production of deliverables.
Manage studies and process-orientated projects as assigned.
Development and improvement of company standards and process design methods.
Technical writing activities, in particular, production of technical reports and operating manuals.
Training and mentoring of process engineers and graduates to enable them to achieve membership of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and IEAust.
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil and Gas Business Unit.
Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the Oil and Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH & S procedures.
Essentials Skills / Experience required
B Eng (Hons) Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent to qualify for corporate membership of.
Not less than 12 years direct process engineering experience in the offshore Oil and Gas industry with at least the last 7 years design experience in FEED and/or Detailed Design.
Operations/site experience with offshore and onshore oil and gas processing facilities.
Proven capability to work within teams and to manage other process engineers to meet cost and deliverable schedules.
An excellent understanding of key documents and deliverables required for specifying offshore design such as philosophies, functionality requirements, PFDs/UFDs, H&MBs etc.
Capable of working independently to ensure system optimisation, size equipment, provide workable alternative solutions/options and challenge the functionality of the current system design.
Have excellent presentation, communication and report writing skills.
Computer skills particularly good practical experience in the use of process simulation package packages such as HYSYS, PipeSim and Flarenet and in commercial software including databases, spreadsheets and word processing.
