Identifies trouble areas and determines corrective action. Observes electro-mechanical and hydraulic devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts or to locate and adjust wiring, tooling, fittings, etc, which do not reconcile to schematics and drawings. Examines form and texture of machine component to detect imperfections. Inspects questionable components to determine changes in dimensional requirements as shown on drawings, blueprints and/or documentation. Adjusts functional parts of machines, devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. Starts devices to test their operation. Understands and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Troubleshoots machine control and electrical equipment. Completes work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 9000. Must be available for emergency service during off hours. All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience. Perform other related duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS Degree in Engineering or completion of certified apprenticeship program. Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints, drawings and documentation. Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic production maintenance.
