Application Analyst


Job Summary:


Responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of administrative, financial, or clinical applications. Supports requirements definition, process and use documentation, product testing, product trouble shooting, product upgrades, and report development.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience.

Skills: Analytical ability to solve technical problems. Competent in microcomputing including desktop applications, project management, and communication and emulation applications. Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal/external customers. Understanding of information systems and their impact to customers.

Must be willing to carry a pager/cell phone and be available for 24 x 7 on-call support to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Frequency of rotation will vary depending on need/size of department.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience with electronic medical records highly preferred.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent oral and written communications skills, interpersonal skills, and capable of functioning in customer service and team environment required.

Experience working in a hospital or ambulatory care services environment, with an understanding and familiarity with medical vocabulary is highly preferred.

Prior Logician/Centricity EMR experience is highly preferred. Experience with sql tools, programming background preferred.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in development of content release notes and content training materials.

Works directly with physicians and clinical support staff to develop content specifications.

Participates in application release testing and implementation under the direction of the clinical content supervisor.

Troubleshoots problems related to clinical content, working with IS team, vendor and physicians and clinical support staff as required.

Develops, documents and maintains policies and procedures for application maintenance under the direction for the Clinical Content Supervisor.
