Lead Automation Tester
The Development Effort Consolidation Contract
(DECC) of which CSC is the lead under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services (CMS) constructs CMS forward looking health care quality systems
environment. This program is in it's third option period supporting various
lines of businesses across the agency.
To lead, direct and oversee the operation of the
project test team and coordinates all test activities for the testers during
each testing phase of the project. Utilizes testing knowledge and experience to
assess and advise Manager on the progress of the testing activities. Ensure
that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy/approach and the system
test plan are clearly documented and communicated to management.
Work closely with the DECC Test Manager and
internal project management to plan, schedule, risk identification and
mitigation and manage the operational and system testing activities. These
activities include managing system validation through test preparation and test
execution of system, integration, and V&V level testing.
Plans or oversees the planning of the system and
acceptance tests and coordinates the execution of these plans.
Utilizing MS Project work with Team Manager to
establish resource allocation and staffing plans including milestone dates,
develop test plans, test schedules, and provide time-and-effort estimates for
the system validation activities and testing components to be performed.
Conducts moderately complex testing,
troubleshooting and analysis tasks on various phase(s) of network systems
development including integration, systems testing, interoperability testing,
field test plans and customer acceptance plans to maintain the
credibility/viability of the system.
Monitors the initial configuration and parameters
of equipment for system credibility. Assists in the investigation and
resolution of matters of significance in conjunction with other engineering and
technical support to ensure cost effective and efficient resolution of
problems.
Designs, develops, implements and maintains test
processes and diagnostic programs for assigned projects. Completes
specifications and procedures for new products.
Writes moderately complex test plans for
assigned projects. Maintains record of test progress, documents test results,
prepares reports and presents results as appropriate.
Works with clients to determine systems
requirements. Assists lead engineer/management in writing proposals to
recommend process/program and follows through on implementation.
Qualification
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of
education and experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or
engineering or related field preferred
Six or more years of network testing experience
Experience working with computer systems and
their uses
Experience working with telecommunications
systems and their corresponding principles
Experience working with network management and
protocol system testing
Experience working with operating systems
Experience working with protocols and
technologies such as HTTP, SSL, FTP, SMTP, POP3, etc
Experience working with network equipment:
switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.
Other Qualifications
Minimal 5 years experience with testing
web-based and/or client-server applications
Experienced in a variety of software development
methodologies and project management best practices
3-5 years experience with Oracle, PL/SQL
Developer (or other database query tools) and XML (preferred)
Experience with testing applications using Java,
IIS/ASP, Oracle.
Experience with testing systems developed in a
SOA environment preferred.
Experience with various Software Testing methods
(i.e. Black Box, White Box, Error Processing, Navigation, etc.)
Experience with the ALM/Quality Center quality
solution tool.
Experience with developing/writing automated
functional test scripts using Unified Functional Testing/QuickTest Pro.
Experience executing automation testcase and performing
analysis of the automated test run using Unified Functional Testing/QuickTest
Pro.
Good grasp of Microsoft 2000 Office Products and
a solid technical background that includes a general familiarity with
programming logic, shadowing capability, and technical client support. How to
