Performs a wide variety of complex non-standard technical assignments under minimal supervision.
Follows test development procedures.
Defines technical resource requirements, assumes a leadership role in improvements, leads production test and test engineering corrective action projects. Transitions customer test technology and equipment. Trains and supports operators and technicians. Develops tests under the direction of the customer design engineer or test engineering department.
Analyzes and troubleshoots complex circuits using advanced or sophisticated test equipment, and can teach other technicians how to use equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or spectrum analyzers.
Initiates contact with customers and equipment manufacturers to resolve product and equipment-related problems, manufacturing and testability issues. Generates reports and charts to track test results and provide feedback to production work centers to improve yields and processes.
Initiates and maintains test procedures for the purpose of keeping discrepancies at the lowest level within the manufacturing process. Prioritizes test workload utilizing internal systems, priority status, due dates and elapsed days in test. Interfaces with internal departments to assure monthly shipment goals are achieved. Conducts pilot and preliminary production runs to verify documentation and production procedures, establish schedules and resolve problems. Develops a thorough understanding of appropriate technology and products. Performs other duties as required.
