The successful
candidate's responsibilities will include:
Performing all types
of Audio and Acoustic tests for BlackBerry handheld devices
Reporting results and
provide feedback to designers
Helping build an
understanding within RIM of how test cases relate to a customer's perception of
audio
Developing and
documenting new test methods
Expanding test
capabilities and improving test efficiency
Coordinating
improvement efforts across multiple sites
Keeping all audio
instruments in calibration and maintaining calibration records
Qualifications
2-4 years experience
audio testing in telecom or at least experience from electronics lab testing
Aptitude to
understand, analyze, and draw conclusions from test results
Competence to
organize, report, and present test data
Ability to influence
others and work with a variety of individuals
Patience, flexibility,
and work ethic
Experience with audio
test systems like Head Acoustics Acqua, UPL, and AP is an advantage
Bachelor of Electrical
Engineering or other relevant degree is an advantage
Experience with PC
interfacing to test equipment through GPIB, Ethernet or Serial using Visual
BASIC, Labview or other PC lab software tools is an advantage
Interest in music is
an advantage
