Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining Corporate LAN/WAN infrastructures. Assures the health and stability of the data network through effective project management, technical reviews and change control Configure, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support LAN/WAN equipment to include, but not limited to, routers, switches, hubs, CSU/DSUs, firewalls, modems, controllers, multiplexors, data probes, out of band management devices, cabling). Contribute to establishing and documenting hardware installations of routers, switches, hubs, firewalls, etc. Document LAN/WAN environment and ensure updates are made to appropriate network management systems. Assists in monitoring and adjusting LAN/WAN performance, as necessary, to insure LAN/WAN integrity and performance. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of all LAN/WAN hardware and software. Coordinate network hardware/software implementation with Business Units and clients to ensure limited impact to production network through appropriate change control procedures. Coordinate installation, maintenance and order activities with vendors. Manage projects to install and maintain connections between CVG and customers (including facilities, CSU/DSU, router switches and Hubs). Install and provide hands-on support of customer owned equipment. Provide hardware support duties of a Technician as required. : Experience in data networking hardware components and networking protocols Experience with engineering and testing network components Must have proficiency with routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP) Must have proficiency with networking protocols (IP/SNA) Individual is required to ensure the availability and integrity of the Corporate Data Network enabling end users to access data resources needed to perform job functions. Perform data network resources administration and maintenance along with data network equipment installation. Receive, analyze, monitor and resolve network problems in accordance with published Service Level Agreements. Consult with project management clients and vendors for new business campaigns potential strategic partnerships and product service offerings.

Identifies trouble areas and determines corrective action. Observes electro-mechanical and hydraulic devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts or to locate and adjust wiring, tooling, fittings, etc, which do not reconcile to schematics and drawings. Examines form and texture of machine component to detect imperfections. Inspects questionable components to determine changes in dimensional requirements as shown on drawings, blueprints and/or documentation. Adjusts functional parts of machines, devices and control instruments. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines. Starts devices to test their operation. Understands and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. Troubleshoots machine control and electrical equipment. Completes work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 9000. Must be available for emergency service during off hours. All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience. Perform other related duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS Degree in Engineering or completion of certified apprenticeship program. Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints, drawings and documentation.
