Job Responsibilities:
· Develop test plans and design and document test cases according to requirements.
· Drive metrics into the quality process from start to finish and collect/analyze/report on that data in order to show trends in quality.
· Investigate complex circuit designs to discover and report their defects. Heavy data analysis will be involved. Employ negative testing in addition to testing for requirement function compliance.
· Utilize standard test instrumentation to analyze electronic interface operation, power loading, thermal characteristics, timing, etc.
· Review hardware specifications and schematics for testability and for robustness. Provide feedback to design Engineering.
· Review Product requirements and provide feedback.
· Resolve intricate problems that require deep, critical thinking.
· Become an expert on each system/product you work with.
· Examine compound hardware and electronic components and explore their interactions with one another as well as with the embedded software application.
· Coordinate efforts and communicate progress with the Product Engineering department, project/product management.
· Host test plan reviews and test results meetings with project stakeholders prior to and proceeding testing phases.
· Maintain valuable lab equipment and ensure operability.
· Perform in-lab tests as well as field tests in the Phoenix valley area. Must be willing on occasion to work in extreme outdoor conditions. Exposure to the sun and the Phoenix heat will need to be tolerated during field testing. (primarily this is an in lab position)
· Handle several tasks in a dynamic development environment.
· Coordinate activities with 3rd party testing facility for environmental and accelerated life testing on some products.
· Perform mechanical evaluations for product enclosures.
