Position Summary
GT Advanced Technologies is seeking a highly
effective Data Analyst for Advanced Manufacturing to assist with performance
analysis of a pilot manufacturing line and technology transfer function within
its facility, and data support to transfer technology to a high volume
manufacturing site elsewhere in the US. This position reports to the Sr
Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and will be responsible for data
analysis to support the development of processes transferred from R&D to
the Advanced Manufacturing team; supporting the analysis of process of record
and equipment performance for the pilot line; providing feedback for optimizing
the pilot line for quality, yield and cost; supporting technology transfer into
a high volume manufacturing facility
Position Key Duties & Responsibilities
Data mining, data cleaning and initial, main and
final data analysis.
Provide input to maintain and refine GT’s
R&D and production databases.
Attend, participate and present at meetings
within all levels within the organization.
Establish statistical process control and
optimization protocols for pilot and mass production.
Conduct training on statistical tools and
methodologies to develop rigorous data-driven culture.
Assist with the creation of new documents and
the modifying of existing procedures.
Work with process engineering and R&D teams,
leveraging data to identify process correlations and improvement opportunities.
Schedule flexibility to support critical
deadlines may be required.
Experience Required
4+ years of experience in a high tech
manufacturing environment in Technical or Process Application Analysis or
equivalent combination of experience with a BS degree, MS preferred
Extensive database, spreadsheet and Minitab (or
other statistical software package) experience including data charting, trend
analysis and reporting.
Strong analytic capability and excellent
organizational and oral/written presentation skills, with the ability of
summarize key issues.
Fluent in, and the ability to educate others on,
the use of quality tools and problem solving methodologies such as 8D, Ishikawa
diagrams, SPC, etc.
Broad understanding of quality systems such as
ISO9001.
Ability to train others, including
manufacturing, test and assembly personnel, on data collection methods and
procedures.
Ability to make suggestions and express oneself
openly in a clear and non-confrontational manner
Manufacturing and process engineering knowledge
in the area of crystal growth and fabrication technologies desired.
6-Sigma Green Belt desired, or higher, desired.
