Planning Engineer (Resource Adequacy)
The primary role of this position is to help
manage the department's production cost/resource expansion modeling systems and
associated data, and conduct ERCOT system modeling and economic studies to
support the following analysis requirements and research areas:
ERCOT's Long-Term System Assessment, a biennial
report on system transmission needs that must be filed with the Texas state
legislature.
Loss of Load Probability (LOLP) studies to
support the selection of a capacity planning reserve margin required for the
Capacity, Demand and Reserves (CDR) report. LOLP studies are also required by
the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) for annual
probabilistic resource reliability assessment report filings.
Existing resource market viability and risk
analysis.
Electric generating technology cost analysis and
market penetration forecasting.
Regulatory/market design change impact analysis.
The person in this position also has the
important role of assisting in the review and validation of periodic resource
adequacy, reliability, and generator interconnection status reports for ERCOT
senior management, market participants, the Public Utility Commission of Texas,
and the general public.

Work Experience
Minimum of 2 years (in excess of degree
requirements stated above) of progressively responsible experience in
