The successful
candidate's responsibilities will include:
Manage and maintain
Product Configuration Sheets (PCS) within their product portfolio
Be accountable for
accurate PCS submissions to drive accurate BoM processing
Assess product change
requests to perform necessary PCS updates and ECR submissions
Manage internal
customer expectations on product change requests
Work with Product
Managers, Carrier Product and Technical Managers to ensure correct product
configuration
Use PCS to gather
carrier requirements to submit necessary software builds and setups
Review and Sign
Engineering Change Notices (ECN) prior to release to production
Field configuration
questions from Carrier Product Managers, Handheld Product Managers and
Manufacturing concerning: ECN release timing, ECN implementation details, BOM
discrepancy issues, as well as software and component issues at manufacturing
Work with Master
Schedulers, Handheld Product Managers, and other Configuration and functional
teams to ensure products are released based on build plans, and customer
priorities
Assist to identify and
solution process improvement opportunities within and across functional teams
Represents Handheld
Product Configuration team as subject matter expert
Mentor and train
fellow team members
Lead and manage
irregular team projects and assignments
Work with
managers/teamleads/ representatives of other functional teams to resolve cross
functional issues or projects.
Qualifications
The individual must
have a strong understanding of bill of material concepts and has at least 2
years experience in a Configuration Management environment
Excellent knowledge of
Bill of Material practices including BoM structure and engineering change
implementation
Knowledge of Product
Lifecycle systems is essential
Strong
analytical/trouble-shooting skills
Effective verbal and
written communicator with strong ability to handle issues and problems
A high level of
self-motivation and the ability to work independently when required
General project
management knowledge and skills
Effective facilitation
skills to manage process/project discussions
diploma a minimum
(University degree preferred)
Previous team leading
or management experience a plus
Configuration
Management II certificate would be an asset
Knowledge of supply
chain management practices, material requirements planning (MRP), master
scheduling and manufacturing processes
