Logistics Supervisor

Supervises tasks and work in accordance with the organization¿s policies and applicable laws

Establish SMARTE performance goals for individuals and teams.
Provide SMARTE feedback to employees
Formally document feedback in required company format/tool
Consistently follows-up on goals and tactical actions being executed by team members
Complete skills gap and cross-training matrices
Resolution of basic problems involving attendance, safety, and policy compliance
Resolve moderately complex employee relations issues
Initiates and suggests plans for employees¿ career development
Trains and mentors Group Lead personnel in leadership roles and technical procedures
Enforces compliance with all Safety, Ethics and Operational policies
Informs management of problems and includes possible solutions in communication

Functional Responsibilities:
Enforces company policies and safety regulations
Identifies, Addresses and resolves areas of concern in talent management.
Prepares next level of talent by creating or identifying growth opportunities for each individual based their experience, needs, and abilities.
Hold team and individuals accountable to meeting performance objectives
Document feedback to employees formally and informally- annually in PFT, at mid-year and real-time as required
Lead and conduct crucial conversations based on documented facts and data as they occur
Observe work to identify and resolve technical or quality issues
Interact with shipping and logistic suppliers to support tactical shipments when needed
Identify process and procedure waste
Implement technical changes to reduce wastes
Recommend improvements to product, processes and procedures
Enforces compliance with hazardous waste materials storage and handling procedures
Can identify root causes to problems. Looks past initial responses for issues
Identify and implement corrective actions in response to CAR/PCAR's in required time
Create EH&S,/Facility/MEWR Work requests in clear, concise fashion
Estimates work requirements for completion of job assignment.
Supports ACE Pilot in collecting, analyzing and reporting data
Supports ACE Tool Champions in collecting, analyzing and reporting data
Can serve as ACE Pilot or Tool Champion when necessary
Establishes improvement targets for all quality, delivery and safety metrics
Measures results to the goals on the ACE boards with color indicators posted
Schedule work and manage day-to-day priorities
Create a long term (week/month/Year) cell/area planning based on product and demand.
Identify risks to schedule based on demand, tool challenges, manloading, and cell efficiency.
Uses data such as On time delivery, overtime, efficiency, direct labor utilization, lead time, takt time and cycle time data to support scheduling and staffing requirements.

Support monthly budget reviews
Understand overages or run rates with respect to financial results
Implement and measure productivity measurements at a cell level
Re-plan work or rearrange cells using ACE/CI tools to support changes and grow leads

Skills Required
Prior logistics and supervisory duties necessary.
Ability to apply and use CI tools to implement change and manage/lead events.
Ability to apply mathematical skills to perform analyses
Ability to write and create reports and correspondence.

Supervison:
Accountable for hiring and discharging decisions
Initiate or recommend salary action
Accountable for the work performance of the team
Responsible for training
Conduct performance appraisals and coach for career development
Interpreting data within the limits imposed in the manufacturing procedures.
Support annual physical inventory event
Support and complete cycle counting requirements of inventory management
Support and complete physical inventory of magazines and other designated storage locations.

Work Environment:
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and explosives.
The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes.
Weekly work hours will vary with workload.
Required to serve as weekend plant-wide supervisor 6 and 12 times per year.
