Industrial Engineer

Provide industrial engineering support to the Molecular manufacturing operations. This includes evaluating work order variances to determine the root cause of cost discrepancies and applying corrections to all related products. Also, analyze workflow operations, set manufacturing standards, improve efficiencies and recognize potential cost saving opportunities.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Develop new product standard costs by reviewing change orders in Pilgrim QMS. Investigate and understand updates to product structures, Bill Of Materials (BOMs), routings or lot sizes before processing changes in the MRP system that result in standard cost changes. Remove work order variances by reviewing Manufacturing Procedures and working with operations personnel to improve product BOM quantities and routing labor standards. Perform time studies in manufacturing to document current operations for accurate costs and recognize future method changes. Provide support during Cost Accounting standard setting review by investigating and explaining material cost change impacts, as well as, changes to direct labor and batch sizes from year to year. Recommend solutions and help in completing CAPA corrective actions. Assist in developing new product estimates for R&D and Marketing to help in determining if a project should be implemented. Interface with many other departments to address and solve business process challenges.

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.

At least two years experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge about setting standards and performing process improvements. Experience in executing multiple projects. Proficiency in MS Office required - Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Familiarity with MRP systems a plus. Strong interpersonal skills.
