About the Job
Leading profitable and fast growing, multi-state retail company is seeking a Accounts Payable Supervisor.

SUMMARY

Responsible for leading, supervising and motivating a team of Accounts Payable Specialists while providing accurate and timely financial information and statements to internal and external users.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Ø  Supervision of Assigned A/P Specialists-
§  Supervise assigned A/P specialists, including assigning work to best utilize team member strengths.
§  Assist in hiring new team members.
§  Train and develop useful skills of new and existing team members.
§  Assist in the completion of performance appraisals and counseling of team members.
§  Monitor and communicate overtime levels, missed time and/or unpaid time off of team members.
§  Monitor team performance levels in regards to meeting department goals.
§  Assist in the establishment, communication and maintenance of all department and individual goals.

Ø  Processing, Auditing and Reporting of Financial Data-
§  Ensure all applicable financial closings, deadlines and policies are met.
§  Ensure financial transactions are accurate and properly documented and supported.
§  Ensure auditing procedures set forth by management are adhered to and that appropriate action(s) are taken when problems or errors are discovered.
§  Ensure vendor statements are worked in a timely manner.
§  Report any major vendor discrepancies to the Controller.
§  Ensure vendor reconciliations and discrepancies are resolved timely and take steps to avoid debit balances.
§  Continue to process and monitor assigned stores/Markets as applicable.
§  Maintain ongoing and effective communication with all stores on all issues related to the accurate and efficient processing of invoices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES

Ø  Previous supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
Ø  A minimum of 3 years experience in a high volume Accounts Payable environment is required.
Ø  Excellent reconciliation and problem solving skills are required.
Ø  Ability to lead, motivate and supervise a team of associates.
Ø  Demonstrable proficiency in Outlook, Work, Excel, Access and 10 key.
Ø  Sound judgment and decision making skills.
Ø  Flexible and responsive when faced with multiple urgent requests.
Ø  Must be able to demonstrate strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills with all levels of the organization.
Ø  Must possess unquestionable ethics and integrity.
