Manufacturing Documentation Engineer

Job Summary:

No direct reports but coordinates and supports divers teams in a global environment.
Indicate internal/external contacts and purpose of contacts.
Consults and establishes working relationships with site management. Leads and participates as a fully contributing member of a team. Consistently leads project teams in the solving of manufacturing related problems and the standardization of processes. Frequent internal customer presentations. Shares opinions, ideas and resources with others to achieve common goals; fosters teamwork and collaboration, builds trust.
Indicate budget/revenue responsibility.
Limited responsibility for budget with impact to cost center.
Explain the degree of supervision/guidance, procedures/processes used, judgment, creativity, planning & resourcefulness needed to do the job.
Interprets and applies relevant policies and procedures. Receives objectives and guidelines for projects. Analyzes and interprets data independently. Anticipates potential problems and takes preventative action.
How are errors detected and what are the possible impact of those errors?
Reviews the work of others for accuracy and soundness of judgement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Describe general working conditions (i.e. noise level, temperature, around heavy machinery)
Spends 85% of time in office environment, 15% in shop.

E/N Duties and Responsibilities
E Ensures safety (behavior and conditions) is improving as measured by company goals, by positively influencing the overall organization and partnering with site safety representatives.
Leads the standardization of processes for production of products and provides input to processes to improve quality, throughput and manufacturing costs.
Provides training and development for manufacturing operations in area of specialty.
Develops performance standards/metrics and reports on areas for improvement.
Strong presentation and communication skills at all organizational levels.

Acts as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for team members in their daily technical work.
Standardizes processes for manufacturing core products and assist in the redesign of processes to improve throughput and manufacturing costs.
Insists that customers, process operators and process owners play their position and ensures requirements are mutually agreed upon, clear, measurable, and appropriately placed.
Understanding of customer requirements and ability to identify deviations as they occur.
Leads projects to improve tactical performance delivering profitability and delivery.
Ability to lead organizational change and facilitate cross-functional groups.
Creation of manufacturing documentation for use in production areas.
Functions as process owner for the documentation control system.
Development of cost vs benefits analysis.
