Software Engineer - Embedded Systems/SDLC
Description:
Analyze and develop software for embedded systems. Support software lifecycle activities: participate in requirements development, develop software design documentation, support code reviews, write unit test procedures, etc.
Understanding of networking concepts; experience with protocol analysis
Understanding of Linux OS internals, kernel, or device driver development

Qualifications:
Required Skills:
Multiple years experience in: C, C++ programming, or Assembly language programming,
Understanding of Linux OS internals, kernel, or device driver development
Knowledge of telecom architectures and protocols
Desired Skills:
Software reverse engineering
IDA-Pro
Database programming (such as Oracle or Sybase)
Assembly language development
Shell scripting
Perl scripting
Microsoft Windows development, Visual Studio
Familiarity with configuration management tools
Reverse engineering / software analysis, Systems engineering of large systems, Hardware and software integration.
Salary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience
0 to 2yrs experience designing printed circuit cards,interest in "C" and "C++" in programming languages.
Experience with real-time operating systems a plus.
Working knowledge of Ethernet TCP/IP and or EIP used in embedded systems.
Experience with electronic design of microprocessor related circuits for embedded systems, design of high speed analog-digital circuits, and a well rounded understanding and practical experience with design of high-voltage (24VDC to 220 VAC single phase) Input/Output circuits.
Experience with serial communications including but not limited to RS-232, 20mA current loop, RS-422 and RS-485.
Responsibilities are both the design of new printed circuit cards and specifying components for use on these cards for new products and updating and revising legacy circuits and printed circuits for existing scale products.

Very good expertise in Embedded Linux, GBE, PCIe, USB, MIPS, PowerPC
knowledge in C/C++, assembly language, software debuggers, emulators and logic analyzers
FPGA's and VHDL
Experience using ICE and debuggers
Familiarity with logic analyzers and/or oscilloscopes
knowledge with system interfaces
Protocols such as TCP/IP and XCP
Knowledge of control systems
System knowledge of L2, IP & MPLS forwarding technologies
and experience in Linux kernel
Good understanding of other platforms & peripherals:
