There is a regular, full-time position available for a Manager, Fiscal Services Technology and Processes reporting to the Chief Financial Officer in Fiscal Services.   The incumbent in this position will drive initiatives to develop new technology solutions or expand the functionality of existing Fiscal Services applications including the Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP).  Working under general supervision, the manager will support financial services software application implementations, updates, modifications, expansions of functionality, integration with other applications (primarily Raiser’s Edge, Coeus, Maximo, Microsoft Dynamics AX5, and HR packages) and reporting;  will assist application business user in translating business processes into system requirements, evaluating solutions (software applications, configuration changes, new setups, etc), implementing selected solution, testing, documenting and training users; will be responsible for the data models and processes including understanding points of integration and use of each data element in order to evaluate the impact of proposed changes on other modules or applications; assist users with trouble shooting when application does not run properly; track outstanding projects/issues; will work closely with Human Resources Manager of Technology and Operations, JAX Mice and Services Senior Manager Systems Integration and Logistics, Information Technology staff and outside vendors to assure smooth and timely operation of applications and resolution of problems; and assisting in researching new technologies to solve business needs of financial and human reorganization.  This key role requires significant understanding and experience in all aspects of finance and other enterprise business systems management.  Excellent project management, problem resolution and process optimization skills, underpinned by a deep understanding of how to leverage innovative technology approaches to support the various Fiscal Services operations is essential.
Responsibilities include:
Lead all aspects of Fiscal Services system implementation and enhancement projects, in close collaboration with resources representing IT and other departments.  Reviewing patch/upgrade information, determining whether to apply patches, when to implement an upgrade, and schedule testing.
Serve as functional and technical liaison between Financial Services (FS) user community and IT staff and managers of other systems which interface with FS; serving as point of contact for users within the FS team; participating in system troubleshooting and reporting service requests, especially during updates and application of system patches; directing other staff in resolution of system problems and logging and monitoring Service Requests as needed.
Coordinate with FS managers to evaluate and improve efficiency of FS processes and procedures and enhance quality of data storage and retrieval.
Maintain current knowledge of software application updates including new functionality, new modules, etc and alerting users to potential for improvements in process or capabilities.  Evaluating requests for business process changes and providing alternatives to implementation within the software application.  Responsible for maintaining documentation of set-ups, system processes, etc.  Overseeing creation of standard operating procedures for system processes.
Providing training and ongoing support services for users of FS ERP; overseeing development of standard reports; developing queries in response to specific reporting requests and using various software tools including FS ERP, other database applications, spreadsheets, and word processing to format and produce reports.


Required Experience

Minimum qualifications include knowledge of information technology application implementation and maintenance process, system interface principles, database management concepts and practices as would normally be acquired through completion of a Baccalaureate degree in Information Sciences or equivalent and a minimum of eight years of professional experience in a position supporting an ERP; knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures as would be acquired through experience in a financial services environment; knowledge of ERP software (Oracle E-Business Suite preferred) including general ledger, human resource information system, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, receiving, grants, project accounting, fixed assets, time capture, payroll and labor distribution; demonstrated successful experience in supporting a variety of computer hardware and software tools and must be able to troubleshoot and make improvements to systems; excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage details of multiple projects effectively, strong process and workflow management skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely with others, orally and in writing as well as the ability to translate technical knowledge to others with a broad range of experience and expertise levels.
