Loan Servicing Specialist:

As the Loan Servicing Specialist, you will carry out the following duties:

Manages a portfolio of bankruptcy loans according to investor, state, government agency and bankruptcy code guideline

Mitigates loss and legal risk to the company and to investors by accurately managing the bankruptcy process and obtaining relief from bankruptcy on non-performing loans

Verifies new filings, follow up for payments, POC's, Motions and applicable court documents

Determines bankruptcy status, utilizing internal department applications, and moving loans to the next stage in the process

Closes loans out of bankruptcy to ensure that the company's interests are protected as well as processes are continued appropriately and timely upon termination of the stay

Monitors the posting of payments to ensure all cash items are applied per the requirements above and per the terms of loan documents

Responds timely to phone calls, written correspondence from all parties involved in the bankruptcy process including attorneys, court appointed trustees, and internal associates

Reads and interprets all legal documents-pleadings motions, dockets, loan documents etc., as well as borrower trustee, investor and attorney correspondence

Verifies critical dates and reviews electronic court docket for updated case status

Determines when attorney action, advise or interpretation is needed while following department and RESPA guidelines

Performs special projects as necessary

Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high volume production environment

Demonstrate effective organizational skills

Ability to adapt to change easily

Background in Mortgage Banking/Real Estate, Insurance or high volume office environment

Demonstrate an attention to detail, clearly convey thoughts/ideas

Ability to read and interpret numbers, balance/reconcile funds and understand payment amounts

Display decision making
